Our Mission as Engineers

Since 1998 Home Design Consultants has been involved in projects that have ultimately shaped entire communities. Projects have ranged from the entitlement of raw land and the design of master-planned communities to more recently, the development of declining neighborhoods and dense, urban areas in what has become known as smart growth.

From this broad spectrum of experience, clients are assured of an engineering consultant who has participated in virtually all aspects of land development engineering. On large-scale projects, our engineering teams are accustomed to working with multi-disciplinary teams, and HDC often plays the lead role on such projects.

Local knowledge, technical competence, and the ability to find solutions to design challenges, are the foundation of HDC's engineering expertise.

Our approach to providing transportation engineering services is to place appropriate emphases on problem definition and project organization, data collecting and analysis, alternative policies and plan developing, and implementation programs. Home Design Consultants traffic studies and expert testimony expedite regulatory agency approvals for new developments.

Potential needs are defined and cost-effective improvements are designed to address them. We have experience in working with local, state and federal traffic authoritiess to obtain early approvals. Our neighborhood, city wide and regional traffic and transportation master plans define existing conditions, identify needs, and explore alternatives

Our projects have included freeways, expressways, arterials and collectors; local roads and streets; traffic signal systems; and traffic impact and transportation studies

Home Design Consultants added a Photogrammetry team when we realized the benefit this would have to our clients by providing this as an in-house service. Our team of photogrammetrists has a combined total of 10 years of experience, working hand-in-hand with the Survey Department, to provide economic benefit to the client. The precise topographical maps are the most useful and accurate means of land measurement available today to assist engineers and planners, while the infrared photos are often used by HDC's environmental experts for research on vegetation and endangered species within a project area
